Årets upplaga av Sweden Rock Festival går av stapeln 7-10 juni och vi laddar upp med intervjuer med banden och artisterna som spelar. Nästa artist ut är Christone “Kingfish” Ingram där Calle Englund fått ställa några frågor till den Mississippi-bördige gitarristen.
This is your first time at Sweden Rock Festival, what are you most excited about?
– I’m very excited to see the different culture of people, meet different musicians and see the different type of music that’s around. It’s a very diverse line-up and I’m happy to be a part of it!
Do you have a favorite song to play live?
– Well I have… All of them!
Are there any other bands you would like to see at the festival?
– Not too many that I know of, but I’m always on the hunt for new music. That’s why I’m glad to be a part of this so that I can find new people to rock with!
Which one do you prefer, a set in a sweaty night-club or on a big festival stage?
– Definitely a set in a sweaty nightclub, I feel like the atmosphere is better because everything is tighter, closer and more intimate.
Have you ever had a really bad show?
– Honestly not until recently. We did a show opening for Buddy Guy in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the gear gods were not on my side for this show… from pedals messing up, microphones going out and strings being out of tune… Luckily it was just a 45 minute set haha.
Your last album ”662” received a grammy for ”best contemporary blues album” and you are one of the hottest and most promising blues acts in the world. Do you ever have time to stop and take it all in?
– Most definitely, the only time is when we get off the road I just sit back and reflect on that first day being home and be thankful, be grateful and be gracious to everybody that love what we do, and just keep moving on to the next one!
