Årets upplaga av Sweden Rock Festival är snart här och går av stapeln 7-10 juni. Vi laddar upp med intervjuer med banden som spelar på festivalen och denna gång är det Andreas Östlund som har ställt ett par frågor till Tatiana Shmayluk från ukrainska Jinjer om deras spelning på festivalen.
Tell me about Jinjer and what kind of music you are playing?Modern Progressive Groove Metal – what else is there?!I don’t think anyone can understand what it’s like to be a musician in a country at war, but can you somehow try to explain how to find the strength to keep on playing?
It is really simple: This is the least we can do right now to support our Country. We strive to keep what’s happening in Ukraine at the forefront and try to raise awareness and charity whenever we can. Every little bit helps…
How does it feel when you were asked to play at one of Europe’s biggest festivals?
Amazing and we are honored by it. We have always heard great things about SRF and cannot wait to experience it first hand.Which other bands at this year’s festivals do you want to see and who have you received musical inspiration from?
Sadly, we rarely get to see any other acts at these bigger shows, as the days are spent preparing or travelling between festivals.Is there something special that Jinjer wants to convey to everyone at this year’s SRF?
Be kind to each other always, and have a great time of course!What do the plans for the future look like tour/album?
After our appearance at SRF23 and a ton of other European Festivals – we will head out to North America for 3 months to tour with Distrubed and Breaking Benjamin as well as headline dates, then we will take a few months off to rest and finish the new album.
