Cyhra – No Halos In Hell

Melodic metal band Cyhra will release their second album, No Halos In Hell, on November 15 from Nuclear Blast Records.

With the sequel to the debut album Letters To Myself, the band has gone deeper with the writing of the new album. The emotions in the written words are intensified through the music and their music is much more melodic. Personally, I like Cyhra. The band has a melodic metal sound that appeals to me tremendously.

No Halos In Hell has many good tracks. You will find fantastic melodies, hard riffs and strong musical performances. Most of the songs are up-tempo and intense. Great melodies and heavy guitars. Then there is the ballad, Lost In Time. The album tempo slows down and we see Jake E with his vulnerability. The song together with the piano is strong and soul-crushing.

The guitar playing on this album is large and intense. With ‘axemen’ Jesper Strömblad and Euge Valovirta I had great expectations and they delivered. Alex Landenburg’s drumming is technical perfection.

Jake E has a pleasant voice. He has proven twice now that he has the flexibility in his voice to conquer the high and low notes. I like Jake E with Cyhra a lot more than I did with Amaranthe. If you compare this with the debut album, the band’s sound quality in terms of production has developed in a satisfying direction. The production is steady, and the mixing is well-polished. Everything from song melodies, choruses, solos, and voice is excellent.

In summary: Cyhra plays a beautiful album. The listeners will experience strong feelings once again. This is a piece of exquisite melodic metal and they have taken time to get the right result, which is a beautiful album that borders on excellence.
